What It Is
Unlike a TFT module or a standard component you can pick off a datasheet, a segmented LCD's glass is drawn specifically for the product it goes into -- the exact digit layout, icon shapes, glass outline and connector position are all part of the design, not a configuration option on a pre-existing part.
How It Works
The process starts from the application: what needs to be shown (digits, icons, symbols), how it needs to fit the enclosure, and how it connects to the PCB. From there, BIBA draws the segment layout in-house to match that exact requirement, builds a prototype sample for validation against the real enclosure and electronics, and only moves to mass production once that sample is approved.
